Whit Friday Results!

Last Friday, the band attended the annual Whit Friday contests in Saddleworth. We completed contests in 6 villages and are incredibly proud to say we were awarded:

  • Best 3rd section band at Diggle, Scouthead and Lydgate,
  • 2nd best 3rd section band at Greenfield,
  • 4th overall at Friezland.

This places Hawk Green at 15th overall (out of 129 bands) in Saddleworth!

Come and see us in action this Friday at our upcoming Cinematic Spectacular Concert at St Thomas’ Church in High Lane!
Tickets are available now – check our calendar for more details.

Newsletter January 2017

Hawk Green Brass Band are back into the swing of rehearsing after a very busy Christmas, and working hard to make sure our test piece is up to scratch in time for the regional brass band contest at Winter Gardens in Blackpool on 26th February 2017. It’s a special day as it’s also our Principal Cornet Hayley’s 30th Birthday too and we’re hoping because it’s an extra special day, we have some luck at the contest!

Whilst we are rehearsing hard in the bandroom, please have a read of our latest newsletter (click on the link below) and we hope to see you soon at one of our forthcoming concerts.

Hawk Green Newsletter November 2015

As Hawk Green Band prepare for the busy Christmas Period, please have a read of our latest Newsletter. It covers information regarding our latest concerts and competitions but most importantly, it provides a tribute to our President of the Band.

We received very sad news in November that Jack Turnball had passed away, which has had a big impact on the band. Jack had been involved with Marple Bands for around 50 years, and more recently was still attending car boot sales on Saturday mornings to raise funds for the bands. He really will be missed.
